I was asked to create a painted piece for an exhibition. I enjoy painting, but I actually didn’t paint that much at the time. But as I always love challenges I bought my collection of oil paints, planned my piece and got to work. It was a thoroughly therapeutic process and due to the nature of the oil paints it also required patience. Over the period of about five weeks or so, the final piece was completed and ready to be out on display. The final painting was very well received and became a catalyst for much debate within the gallery, which was my desired response. However it was later deemed to be too controversial and was taken down.
